We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our New Product Development Team, based at Horotiu, north of Hamilton.
In this role, you will take the lead in guiding our passionate and focused project teams to deliver new Agri-tech products and solutions for our valued customers. There is real flexibility in this role. It is fixed term for one year to link with the project, so a great opportunity for those looking to take on an interesting project in their career. The hours are flexible too with a minimum requirement of 30 hours per week, office based.
You will need to be a confident leader of others who enjoys the camaraderie of a great team. There is the opportunity for ‘hands on design’ as well as overseeing the project and ensuring the project meets key milestones and deliverables. There is a strong focus on collaboration with the wider R&D Team as you tap into the extensive internal expertise to deliver on this exciting project.
You will be an excellent communicator, who is well organised and can hit the ground running.
Excellent priority setting will ensure those key milestones and deliverables are met together with experience in the application of best practice project management.
To be effective in this role you will have
- Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience as a Project Leader who gets concepts from the drawing board to product manufacture
- Minimum 5 years’ experience Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineer, with a relevant tertiary degree
- Proficient knowledge of best practice project management using tools i.e., Microsoft Project, Asana
- Experience with 3D CAD programmes such as Solidworks
- Able to build strong, positive relationships internally and externally
- Be approachable and flexible
- Excellent problem solving
- A strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement
