Richard Massey
Sales Manager, Ireland
Richard joined Waikato Milking Systems in September 2026, bringing with him a lifelong connection to farming and a strong mix of technical and sales experience within the dairy industry.
Raised on a dairy and tillage farm in Waterford, where his father managed the Cappoquin Estate, Richard grew up immersed in day-to-day farm life and milking operations. After finishing school, he went on to study agriculture, completing a three-year farm management course before taking time to travel.
Keen to broaden his skillset, Richard returned to study electronic engineering and spent two years working in Dublin with a telecommunications company. However, the pull back to the agricultural sector saw him transition into the dairy industry in 2000, joining Westfalia (GEA) as an engineer. This role provided the ideal balance between his farming background and technical interests, and over time he progressed into sales.
Having spent his entire career working across both technical and sales roles in dairying, Richard brings a well-rounded perspective to his work. His technical foundation gives him an advantage when working with farmers on new projects, allowing him to provide practical advice that aligns with real on-farm needs.
Richard has a strong interest in dairy farming and the technology that supports it. He values the opportunity to work closely with farmers — from early conversations through to seeing systems in operation — and takes satisfaction in helping deliver outcomes that work in the real world.
